Now that you've shown the Republicans that you are in America's driver's seat, you should deal with a more insideous group of people, the blue dog Democrats.  I like to call them, the enemy within.

Frankly, the blue dogs need some Democratic agenda obediance training, Obama style.  Wouldn't you like to get all of the blue dogs in a public meeting and give them the same kind of consciousness raising session that you gave the Republicans?
Don't channel Reagan for that session, just channel Teddy Roosevelt.  If you hold the blue dogs up to the blinding light of  publicity and truth, they will do whatever you say.

Please straighten them out. After eight years of George Bush, we want our electeds to be Democrats, not Republican Lites.

President Obama, your meeting with the Republicans was impressive, to say the least.  You calmly fielded and defused  every Republican argument while enjoying every minute of it.  You looked Presidential and they looked petty and foolish.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you finally realize that you don't need to beg members of the party of NO, the party that gave us eight years of Bush's assaults on the constitution  and Corporatism for a consensus.  You are finally using the  bully pulpit in a way that would make Teddy Roosevelt proud.

Mr. President, keep up the good work and working people will back you one hundred percent.  Oh, before I close this thing out, I do have a few requests:
1- Push for full national health care, it's the moral thing to do.
2- Let's develop a crash program to bring the manufacture of consumer goods back to the USA.
3- Let's do something to help unions proliferate to reverse years of damage to the middle class that started during the Reagan administration.

What did you think of President Obama's State Of The Union Address?  My impression was that he is is finally going to address some of the needs of the middle class.  I have a few items that he could add to his to do list that would go a long way towards making things more equitable for the middle class and poor. I'm sure the bloated mega corporations who now consider themselves the shadow government of the US are jumping with joy over today's Supreme Court decision.  Justice Roberts and  company have done something that can only happen in a Frankenstein movie; they brought corporations to life and gave them rights that used to only belong to flesh and blood people. Corporations are now constitutionally entitled to the right of free speech. 

Laws that limit the amount of money a corporation can spend on political advertising no longer apply because the court says they restrict a corporation's right of free speech.  Corporations can now buy the politician of their choice by financing their campaign ads.  When politicians are bought and sold, a mere vote  means nothing. 

Congratulations Supreme Court, you have done what no invading army has ever been able to do; you have tossed 233 years of American freedom into the circular file and turned the USA over to it's new rulers, the corporations.

The term Bully Pulpit refers to the power that a President has to champion public interest causes and legislation. That power is strongest at the beginning of a presidential term.   To see how our current President used that bully pulpit, visit the  Listen Here! page.
