For decades, one of the hallmarks of REAL Democrats has been staunch and uniform condemnation of the lies, fear and faux patriotism of the McCarthy era Republicans. Although communism no longer exists in Russia and neither does the old Soviet Union, today's corporate owned "Democrats" have decided to reinstate those old feelings of the cold war! Let me serve notice on them and those who support them that they are no better then the corrupt, flag waving slimeball Republicans that their predecessors denounced! We do need to create one or more HONORABLE political parties or our nation's and children's future is doomed to perpetual wars fought for corporate profits that syphon taxpayer money that could be better spent on universal healthcare and higher education!
Ultimately, the choice is yours to make. Do you want to continue to vote for an owned politician from one of the two political empty brands or vote for someone who actually does your bidding?

Here's a great idea to start our day. Since for years, the GOP has made equating socialism with now nonexistent Soviet communism and turned what is only an economic system into a dirty word, let's do the same thing for capitalism. Let's equate capitalism with corruption. When you think about it, that isn't too big of a stretch, is it? Think about the mortgage meltdown. Think about corporate owned electeds. Think about all of those things and comment to this post.
Let's hear what you have to say! Your comments could help erase a distortion of the facts that the mainstream media has been using to marginalize Bernie Sanders. Our country's Constitution has been altered beyond recognition by a Supreme Court controlled by a crew of conservative appointees who are in essence, political time capsules put in place to accomplish a corporatist agenda. Similarly, our "representatives" in Congress and the Senate who we elected to do our bidding are for the most part, representing the corporations and billionaires who own them and are ignoring us. Our founding fathers would be shocked and disgusted by the actions of every branch of what passes for democracy and government these days. To hear me expound on this issue, just visit my Listen Here! page. If you are politically active, you have probably been receiving a constant deluge of emails, snail mail and telemarketing calls asking for campaign contributions. At first blush after getting annoyed at the intrusion on your life, you are probably saying that “the other party” gets big donations from big corporations and billionaires so “my party” needs to solicit me to offset their money. But after drilling down on the concept of getting your space invaded by endless emails, phone calls, etc., you begin to see a pattern developing. After checking the voting record of the person that you helped elect into office you notice that on fiscal issues that affect giant corporate interests, he or she while saying the things you want to hear, voted in their favor and against your interests. Congratulations, you have just seen that regardless of your party, you mean little to the person that you voted into office after you cast that ballot. Why should your party's candidates care about your one measly vote when a single corporate or billionaire contribution will buy TV ads that get them millions of votes? Those TV ads are the heroin of politics. Your electeds and their parties are addicted to them because they need the ads and the money that buys them to win their campaigns. Corporations and billionaires will gladly provide the funds for those ads either directly or through surreptitious “public interest” organizations buying attack ads. Despite what the conservative supreme court Injustices say, money does not equal free speech, it pays the exorbitant toll that the mega-media corps charge for that not so free speech. In our rigged “two” party system the only way that a politician can get elected is to accept billionaire and corporate money. Corporations and billionaires have a different reason for making contributions than we do, they want favors in return and want to own the politician. We want to support someone that we believe in and pray that we get the “Change that we can believe in.” In other words, we contribute and vote to get the guy we like elected, they pay to get their agenda accomplished. They will back candidates from both parties if necessary because they consider their “contributions” to be payments for services that must be rendered. All of this has brought me to the point where I feel that if my candidate from my party won't do my bidding in exchange for my vote and support, why should I contribute a nickle or for that matter, vote him or her into office? Before you waste your money or vote on someone who talks a good game then works against your interests, ask yourself if there are any alternatives to our current corrupt political duopoly. If not, let's create some sound alternatives and get our country back. As always, I welcome your comments and ideas on this and any other article or show. Time is running out on democracy in our country and only you can get it back! Disclaimer: As a casual observer of government, I am going to make an observation! Having never been a government insider, my observation should be taken as opinion, not fact. The sad truth is, if I were an insider, you probably wouldn't be able to trust my perspective anyway. So it looks like we're all in this together, on the outside looking in and trying to make sense of it all. When certain corporations use campaign funding and other forms of political largesse to attempt to influence the outcome of a particular Congressional, Senatorial or on the state level, statehouse vote, they might call it “business as usual” I call it CORRUPTION! The worst kind of this variety of corruption is where an elected official is out and out owned by his or her corporate sponsor, thus influencing every one of his or her votes. I think that I nailed it when I first coined and said on the air years ago the now widely circulated phrase, “If I wrote the laws, most of our Congressmen and Senators would have to wear car racing style jackets with the logos of the corporations who own them! These days, there are few good elected officials in government, only bad and worse. Our “two” party system has devolved into a system that consists of two levels of corruption: 1- A Republican Party that represents the worse level with many of its elected politicians actively doing the bidding of their corporate backers at the expense of John and Jane Q. Public. 2- A Democratic Party that represents the bad level by closely following the Edmund Burke quote, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph over good is for good men to do nothing.” I feel that the reason that Democratic politicians are so quick to “compromise” with the GOP, even to the extent of offering up tried and true programs like Social Security and Medicare on the sacrificial altar of austerity cuts is because many of them do so at the behest of their corporate backers. As you can clearly see from the description of bad and worse above, corporations use GOP electeds as stalking horses to champion their causes and Democratic electeds to put up a fight for show but not get in their way. So there you have it, both parties are controlled by corporations that liberally use campaign contributions to insure conservative results. That situation negates the effectiveness and purpose of our votes. The question for you to ask yourself is “What am I going to do about it?” My suggestion is that we get a new untainted party going quickly because the two incumbent parties have no reason to change the status quo when it benefits them! |
AuthorHave you noticed that there's no one on Talk Radio who speaks for John and Jane Q. Public? I want to change that situation. When I go into the studio and get on the air, I say the things that you've always wanted to say. The big corporate interests have their lobbyists, I want to be your voice. Just think of me as your guy fighting for your interests. Proud To Be On:Archives
